StoopingMap (“we”, “our”, or “us”) helps people share and discover free furniture and other items left on the street. We do not require sign-up, collect personal information, or track users across apps or websites.

2. Information We Collect

We only collect data necessary for core functionality:

• Location Data. Your location is used on your device to show nearby items and to tag new posts. We do not permanently store your live location or associate it with a profile. You can disable location access in iOS Settings, though some features may not work.
• Photos and Item Posts. When you add a post, the photo and the location you choose are uploaded to our database (hosted on Supabase) so others can see it on the shared map. This content is public within the app. We do not collect your name, email, or other personal identifiers. You can delete your own posts at any time.
• Anonymous Analytics (optional). We may collect basic, non-personal analytics (e.g., app version, device type, and crash logs) to improve performance and stability. These analytics contain no identifying data.

3. How We Use Data

• Display and store shared items on the map.
• Maintain and improve app performance.
• Prevent abuse and ensure data integrity.

We do not track users, show personalized ads, or sell/rent/share data for advertising purposes.

4. Data Storage

Post data (photo, coordinates, description) is stored on Supabase, a managed cloud database platform that follows industry security standards and supports GDPR compliance. We do not store IP addresses or device identifiers, and we do not link any personally identifiable data to stored content.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

• Posts remain visible until deleted by you (or automatically removed after a period, if implemented).
• You can request deletion of specific content by emailing [email protected].
• Backups and server logs are purged on a rolling basis.

6. Children’s Privacy

StoopingMap is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Security

We use industry-standard encryption and access controls to protect stored data. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we work to keep your data safe.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted within the app or on this page. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
